Hi, my name is Yaya.

Yaya Kampen

My name is Yaya (she/her) and I am a trained postpartum doula and parent/life coach who practices in Philadelphia (on Lenapehoking land). I am originally from Virginia, but have lived and worked with families all across the states.

My approach to postpartum care is relational, evidence-based, and connection-focused. I believe that every new parent deserves to be supported, informed, and celebrated in their journey regardless of their identity or financial status. In my work, I affirm the intuitive truth that is already within you to take care of your family in the way that feels right.

I felt called to this work because I love babies, but more importantly I love the vulnerable, raw, wonderful, sometimes difficult experience of parenthood. I so deeply believe in building a better support system for new parents, and that there is always room to “mother” one another more.

I specialize in perinatal mood disorders, queer and trans inclusive support, trauma-informed postpartum care, and family transitions. Before becoming a postpartum doula, I was a career nanny then parent coach, supporting families navigating difficult seasons of change.

I believe your journey in becoming a parent is a shared and interconnective effort. I’m looking forward to getting to know you and discovering what feels like the right fit for your growing family.

I bet I love ya already. Can’t wait to work together.
